This year’s Swiss Liverbirds Christmas day was held at the Stade Philippe Pottier in Monthey. Organised this time by the Dubois and Mottier families, this annual event of our supporters’ club was attracted 65 members.
This year’s programme included a tasting of Valais wines by Christophe Bonvin, former Swiss international, winner of the Swiss championship, winner of 4 Swiss cups and scorer for FC Sion at Anfield in 1996. All this was followed by a Bacchus fondue and the broadcast of Everton – LFC on big screen.
Storm Darragh unfortunately cancelled the Merseyside derby, which will be moved to a later date. But that didn’t stop us from enjoying a fine wine tasting (accompanied by the wonderful words and anecdotes of Christophe Bonvin), as well as a delicious meal.
The traditional raffle was also a success, with Hermin and Alexis walking away with signed shirts from Joe Gomez and Vlad Smicer respectively.
